Louisville big man Malik Williams will miss four to six weeks after reinjuring his right foot on Saturday in Louisville's win at Duke, meaning the senior likely is out the rest of the season.
The school said Monday that the injury will not require surgery.
"I just feel for Malik and his family," Louisville coach Chris Mack said on the ACC coaches teleconference. "I know how hard he worked to get back, and I just feel for him."
Williams, the team's co-captain, played just three games for the Cardinals this season. He missed the first 15 games after breaking the fifth metatarsal of his right foot and undergoing surgery on Nov. 11.
He ends his season after playing just 62 minutes and scoring 15 points.
The 6-foot-11 Williams was runner-up in the voting for the 2019-20 ACC Sixth Man of the Year. As a junior, he averaged 8.5 points and 6.1 rebounds over 26 games (three starts).
The Cardinals end the regular season this week with games at Virginia Tech on Tuesday and at home against Virginia on Saturday. The Atlantic Coast Conference tournament is scheduled to begin March 9 in Greensboro, N.C.
